For over 16 years now, Kevin Harvey has been helping Chattanoogans to look better, feel better, and perform better. Whether you want to lose weight, gain weight, eat healthier, gain motivation or improve your self-confidence, Kevin can show you how to get into the best shape of your life in the shortest time possible. Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in Corporate/Community Wellness with an emphasis in Business and Physical Education. He holds several national fitness certifications ranging from group exercise to personal training, with an understanding of nutrition and psychology. For the past 8 years, Kevin and his wife Kristen have run their own exclusive Chattanooga Boot Camp, Scenic City Boot Camp, and one on one Personal Training, in the Chattanooga area and have enjoyed a great level of success. You would be hard pressed to find a man more dedicated to getting you in the best shape of your life than Kevin Harvey. He is dedicated to helping you achieve the body you have always wanted.

“When I grow up, I want to be an exercise physiologist just like you.” That was the letter Kristen wrote to fitness TV personality, Denise Austin, in 4th grade. Every morning, before school, Kristen would wake up her mom and they’d go downstairs to sweat with Denise Austin. She still remembers everyone’s reaction when she lost the “baby fat”. She no longer felt the pain of being the “chubby” girl. Fitness changed her life and it had become her passion.
But Kristen’s battle with weight didn’t end there. In fact, on her wedding day, she weighed in at her heaviest… “On the day when all eyes are on you and you want to feel “like a princess”, I felt so uncomfortable and self-conscious!” Kristen remembers.
It was the summer of 2004 that Kristen hit rock-bottom. “I was an emotional wreck. I felt like my eating had gotten so out-of-control and it was tearing me apart.” she said. That September she embarked on a journey that would forever be the turning point in her life. She was accepted into a body transformation program and worked closely with an international fitness celebrity. After her successful body transformation, she was asked to become the “spokesmodel” for JNL, inc. and her weight loss success story was shared with thousands of people.
But for her, losing weight was only half the reward. “I not only lost 36 lbs, but I gained control of my life and my eating. I got my power back!”, Kristen exclaimed. “I discovered that ANYTHING was within my reach: The biggest obstacle holding me back was ME!”
Blush Magazine now calls Kevin and Kristen Harvey the “unstoppable husband-and-wife team.” As Chattanooga’s Most Trusted Fitness Experts, Kevin and Kristen are passionate about helping people change their lives through fitness and nutrition. Her mission is to find new, exciting ways to make food and fitness fun so that everyone will CRAVE a healthy lifestyle.
Kristen graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a nationally-certified Chattanooga personal trainer, personal fitness chef, and licensed Chattanooga Adventure Boot Camp Instructor.
Dr. John Spencer Ellis, Support Staff
Each week, over one million people around the world enjoy a fitness program created by John Spencer Ellis. His fitness programs are implemented in the top resorts, spas and health clubs. John is the President of NESTA (National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association) and the Spencer Institute for Life Coaching. These two professional associations have 45,000 members in 30 countries. John is on the Advisory Boards of the National Health, Wellness and Prevention Congress, Exercise TV, Conference for Healthy Living, Irvine Valley College, Get America Fit Foundation, and is a Fellow of the National Board of Fitness Examiners. He is the author of”How Badly Do You Want It? – Your Ultimate Guide to Optimal Fitness,” and a contributor to “Power of Champions.” He created Adventure Boot Camp, the largest fitness boot camp program in the world. His signature series of outdoor fitness equipment is used in communities worldwide. John has been featured or quoted in every major fitness publication, and held the post of Fitness Editor for OC Flair magazine. John has been featured on NBC, CBS, PBS, SPIKE, ESPN & Bravo. He serves as an on-air expert for Life & Leisure Television and Health Journal Television with General Norman Schwarzkopf. He is the producer and host of The OC Body on The Healthy Living Channel. John is a Nautilus sponsored athlete and stars in the workout DVDs Playground Boot Camp™ & Kung-Fu Fitness™. John created the fitness program used by the U.S. Secret Service and he consults the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championships).
John has been continuing his professional education since 1987, and holds bachelors degrees in business and health science, an MBA, and a doctorate in education. He is currently completing a second doctorate in naturopathy. He has fifteen certifications including massage therapy, plyometrics, self-defense, fitness kick boxing, fitness boxing, water fitness, exercise rehabilitation, golf conditioning, Pilates, personal training, clinical hypnotherapy, sports hypnosis, PACE circuit training and yoga. He holds a 2nd degree black belt in kung-fu, has completed the Ironman triathlon, and finished 5th at the U.S. National Biathlon Championships. His medical training includes a license in radiological technology, a medical assisting certification, and training in McKenzie rehabilitation. John was nominated for the California Community College Distinguished Alumni Award.
